Job summary

Elite Talent Hub recruits on behalf of a leading manufacturing client in Fermoy, County Cork, for a Plant Manager/General Manager to lead the sawmill operation. The role oversees safety, production planning, budgeting and continuous improvement, with cross-functional collaboration across Forestry, Sales, Engineering, SHEQ, HR and Finance.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing or related field.
• Minimum five years in a senior Plant/Site/Operations role.
• Experience in manufacturing and capital-intensive production environments.
• Sawmilling or wood-products experience is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of SHEQ systems and lean/CI principles.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, efficient sawmill operations from log intake to production.
• Develop production plans with Forestry and Sales.
• Monitor KPIs, budgets, costs and performance against plans.
• Promote safety culture and regulatory compliance.
• Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Lead recruitment, training, performance management with HR.
• Oversee budgets and control labour, energy and materials.
