Job summary

Smyths Toys is seeking a Sales Assistant for our stores in the United Kingdom. You will be part of a friendly team delivering excellent customer service and helping customers find toys that delight children and families.

The role involves working in a fast-paced retail environment, handling tills, stocking shelves, and staying informed about our product range. Flexible hours and weekend work are expected as Smyths Toys operates seven days a week.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail is desirable, but not essential.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends.
• Customer-focused and friendly demeanour.

About The Role

This is a temporary contract, with a rate of pay of €14.25 per hour for over 20 and €13.00 for under 20s.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service
• Ascertain customers’ needs and wants
• Work as part of a fast paced and dynamic team
• Keep the store clean and tidy
• Pack shelves and merchandise
• Work delivery and complete price changes
• Work on the tills
• Learn about and keep up to date with our products in order to help customers

The Ideal Candidate

Retail experience in the following areas is highly desirable, but not essential:

• Nursery
• Software & Gaming
• Backdoor/Warehouse

Our stores are open 7 days a week so we need our Sales Assistants to be as flexible as possible.
