Job summary

The Safety Advisor / PSCS Representative for Malone Group will provide on-site health and safety coordination across construction and capital projects, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and client standards. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in construction health and safety.
  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
  • Experience on large capital, pharma, life sciences projects.
  • Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
  • Chartered IOSH membership (CMIOSH) or progressing toward chartership.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience working within live operational facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support PSCS duties on designated projects and coordinate safety.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and behavioural safety approach across all construction activities.
  • Attend project coordination meetings and provide professional health and safety guidance.
  • Assist in the coordination of contractors to ensure safe execution of works and prevention of interface risks.
  • Support implementation of the General Principles of Prevention throughout the construction stage.
  • Conduct regular construction site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with project-specific safety requirements and applicable legislation.
  • Verify the suitability of contractor RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
  • Escalate safety concerns and non-conformances through established reporting channels.
  • Support regulatory inspections and audits when required.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and review of Construction Stage Safety and Health Plans.
  • Ensure plans remain current and reflect site conditions, sequencing changes, and emerging risks.
  • Communicate relevant safety information to contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Support coordination between PSDP, contractors, and client representatives regarding safety matters.
  • Participate in contractor safety reviews and prequalification assessment.
  • Verify that contractors cooperate and coordinate their activities effectively.
  • Monitor induction compliance and site access requirements.
  • Ensure contractors provide competent supervision and safe systems of work.
  • Assist with safety briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Report, record, and investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and development of corrective actions.
  • Track completion of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Communicate lessons learned to project teams.
  • Support emergency preparedness exercises and response activities.
  • Maintain inspection records, audit reports, safety registers, and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare safety performance reports and KPI metrics.
  • Assist in the preparation of information required for HSA notifications where applicable.
  • Support project close-out activities and Safety File handover processes.

Job description

The Safety Advisor / PSCS Representative will support Malone Group's delivery of Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) services. The role will provide day-to-day health and safety coordination, monitoring and advisory support across construction and capital projects, ensuring compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013, Amgen requirements, and Malone Group procedures. The position will act as the on-site representative of the Malone Group PSCS function, supporting contractor coordination, risk management, safety inspections, audits, incident investigations and implementation of the Construction Stage Safety and Health Plan.

The Safety Advisor / PSCS Representative is responsible for supporting Malone Group's delivery of Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) services and providing competent health and safety advisory support across construction and capital projects. The role acts as the on-site representative of the Malone Group PSCS function and is responsible for monitoring construction activities, coordinating contractor safety performance, undertaking inspections and audits, reviewing contractor documentation and supporting compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013. The position plays a key role in promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring that construction activities are planned, coordinated and executed safely within a live pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, contractors, other customer appointed consultants, site management, and EHS personnel to identify and manage risk, drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance with legal, client, and company requirements.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
