Connacht Rugby, based at the HPC in Galway, is seeking a PR & Media Manager to lead day-to-day public relations, media and communications strategy from the Dexcom Stadium. This full-time, fixed-term role requires frequent weekend work and travel to support supporters, sponsors and stakeholders across national and international media.

The role will deliver proactive PR plans, media relations, and content collaboration with the marketing team while managing match-day media operations and crisis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Media and PR related fields.
• A minimum of 5 years relevant PR and Media experience.
• Proven history of content development and capture.
• Proven relationship building and people management skills.
• Advanced experience and relationships in the Irish media industry.
• Knowledge of Rugby in Ireland and its structures.
• Driver license.

Responsabilités

• Media Relations: be the key contact for the club in relation to all media and PR matters; build relationships with journalists; organise press conferences and media events; monitor and log media results for SLT.
• Public Relations & Communications: develop and implement a proactive annual PR & Media plan; manage the club’s PR activity across all media channels; promote the club’s profile and reputation with stakeholders.
• Team & Player Communications: brief and prepare coaching staff and players for media duties; support the Commercial & Marketing team to meet club needs; develop player/coach stories; implement Tone of Voice guide.
• Content & Digital Collaboration: work with marketing to maximise media coverage; identify storytelling opportunities across rugby programmes; contribute to content planning and campaigns; produce content for owned channels.
• Match Day Media Operations: manage media obligations for home and away match days; ensure coverage and compliance with regulations; coordinate interviews and press conferences.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Other: meet media and commercial obligations to partners; lead crisis/issue communications with leadership; support sponsors and governing bodies.
