Job summary

Panda is seeking a Route and Fleet Optimisation Manager to improve how we plan routes, use our vehicles and deliver services across our collection and delivery network. You’ll bring together operational experience, data and technology to reduce wasted mileage, improve vehicle availability and control costs, and lead the people who turn those plans into dependable daily service.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience in fleet management, transport planning or logistics operations.
• Proven track record delivering route or fleet improvements with measurable results.
• Strong experience using route planning software, fleet management systems and telematics.
• Experience leading operational teams and improving performance through coaching and accountability.
• A sound understanding of transport compliance, vehicle regulations and driver management requirements.

Responsibilities

• Improve route performance: Design, review and refine collection and delivery routes, reducing duplication and making better use of vehicle capacity.
• Keep plans responsive: Use data, traffic and changing demand to adjust routes and integrate new customers smoothly.
• Make the fleet work efficiently: Match vehicle availability to demand, monitor costs, and reduce downtime.
• Turn data into action: Own fleet and route management systems and develop dashboards on cost, productivity and reliability.
• Lead continuous improvement: Identify causes of poor performance, track results and use benchmarks to sustain improvements.
• Strengthen our technology: Evaluate route planning, telematics and predictive maintenance tools, including EV considerations.
• Lead and develop your team: Coach planners and analysts, set objectives and conduct reviews.
• Maintain safety and compliance: Track licenses, training records, and regulatory requirements.
• Reduce environmental impact: Cut mileage, fuel use and emissions with accurate fleet data.
• Collaborate across business: Align improvements with Operations, Finance, IT, HR and Commercial priorities.
