Job summary

Veolia | Ireland is seeking a Mechanical Shift Technician in Clondalkin, Dublin. The role involves shift work with cycle blocks of day and night shifts and requires training across Predictive Maintenance, CMMS (Pemac), and reliability techniques on fuel oil, industrial gas, turbines, boilers, and diesel generators.

The technician may support the site in emergencies outside of normal hours and will lead, troubleshoot and maintain complex mechanical systems while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Analytical mindset required for fault analysis and optimization.
• Experience with Six Sigma and Lean methodologies preferred.
• Craft qualification in a mechanical discipline is required.
• Past experience in energy conversion and distribution preferred.
• Strong technical writing and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day work with on-site shift technicians.
• Act as the point of contact for service providers.
• Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis on plant faults.
• Ensure compliance, quality engineering and deviation investigations.
• Perform planned preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure PMs are completed on time.
• Maintain CMMS knowledge and use.
• Develop PMs, Job Plans and SOPs for plant equipment.
• Coordinate spare parts with stores and site planner.
• Review maintenance programmes to maximise uptime.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Knowledge of fuel oil storage and distribution systems, industrial gas installations, turbines, diesel generators and boilers.
• Provide leadership in decision-making on plant operation and equipment.
• Assist planning of complex utility service isolations for maintenance and projects.
• Support capital improvement projects and commissioning handover.
• Mentor team to resolve complex plant deviations.
