Job summary

Early Childhood Ireland is seeking a Room Support Educator to work across our under-6s rooms, gaining exposure to Baby, Wobbler, Toddler and Preschool groups. You will assist room teams during busy periods, support transitions, and build strong relationships with children throughout the day.

The role requires QQI Level 5 or higher in Early Years Care and Education, and a qualification recognised for working in an Irish early years service. Immediate start with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 or higher in Early Years Care and Education is required.

Responsibilities

• Working across Baby, Wobbler, Toddler and Preschool rooms.
• Supporting room teams during busy periods, including nappy changing, mealtimes and transitions.
• Spending time playing, engaging and building relationships with children across the service.
• Stepping into rooms to provide cover when a Room Leader or Educator attends a planned meeting or needs to step away from the room.
• Becoming familiar with routines and practices of each room to confidently provide support where required.
• Helping with the general running of the service between periods of room support.
• Carrying out light housekeeping duties in communal areas, including sweeping, mopping and helping to keep shared spaces clean and organised.
• Working collaboratively with Room Leaders and educators across the service.

Room Support Educator

This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys variety, likes being on the move and doesn’t necessarily want to be based in one room every day.

As our Room Support Educator, you will work across our under-6s rooms, getting to know different age groups, children, routines and staff teams while providing additional support where it is needed throughout the day.

The role includes:

• Working across our Baby, Wobbler, Toddler and Preschool rooms.
• Supporting room teams during busy periods, including nappy changing, mealtimes and transitions.

Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Contract: 52 weeks per year
Pay: Hourly rate based on qualifications and relevant experience
