Job summary

thelunchbag is seeking a Delivery Driver in Nenagh, Ireland. You'll be responsible for delivering orders safely, ensuring all deliveries are correct, and maintaining the delivery vehicle. A full, clean Irish driver's licence is essential. The role offers flexibility in hours, with pay at €18.65 per hour, in addition to subsistence.

This is a full-time contract role, with expected working hours of 35 to 45 per week. Uniforms will be provided, and continuous payment is guaranteed during school terms, with reduced rates during breaks.

Qualifications

• Full, clean Irish driver's licence required.
• Flexible working hours are a must.
• No convictions, as Garda Vetting may be required.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely and follow all laws while delivering.
• Inspect and maintain the delivery vehicle.
• Ensure all orders are correct before delivery.
• Report any issues with the vehicle.

Skills

Full, clean, Category C Irish driver's licence

Experience with independently driving and delivering goods

Knowledge of routing and use of handheld devices

Ability to lift boxes up to 14 kgs

Job description

Activities

• Report to the Transport Co-ordinator.
• Ensure that all orders are correct before delivery.
• Maintain temperature records.
• Maintain cleaning schedule and records.
• Drive safely and follow all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle and report any issues with same.
• Ensure van has fuel, oil and is ready to drive while being well-maintained and clean both inside and outside.
• Maintain standards that correspond to that of company policy.
• Maintain Personal Hygiene.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager.

Requirements

• Drivers must have a full, clean, Category C Irish driver's licence.
• Flexible approach to working hours / routes.
• Drivers must have no convictions, as schools may require Garda Vetting.
• Drivers must have experience with independently driving and delivering goods.
• Knowledge of routing, use of handheld devices and Eircode's will be an advantage.
• Ability to lift boxes up to 14 kgs.

Uniforms will be provided.

Rate of Pay: €18.65 per hour with additional subsistence.

Working Hours. Drivers will work during the day. Approximate times are 7am to 4pm, but this is subject to change.

Please note. We deliver in line with school openings. When schools are closed (Christmas, Easter, Summer and Halloween) staff are off. The company provides continuous payment to our staff from September- June. We pay our staff a reduced rate during the school breaks. Staff are advised to apply to the Department of Social Protection for relevant Jobseekers Payment during July and August.
