Shaws Department Stores in Limerick is expanding its management team and is currently looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated Team Leader to join the team.
This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate must be available to work five days a week over a 7 day roster (including Sunday's)
As a Team Leader in our store, you'll be at the heart of our operations, guiding and motivating a team of retail assistants to deliver exceptional service every day. You'll play a key role in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers, ensuring smooth store operations and helping drive the overall success of the team.

About The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, inspire, and motivate a dynamic team of retail assistants to achieve and exceed store targets, fostering a positive and results-driven atmosphere.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring your team is friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable, creating memorable experiences for every shopper.
- Drive sales performance by consistently monitoring progress and seizing every opportunity to boost sales and meet targets.
- Develop and train your team, providing them with the product knowledge and skills needed to confidently upsell and enhance the customer experience.
- Maintain high store standards, ensuring cleanliness and tidiness while ensuring products are well-organized and visually appealing.
- Collaborate with the Head of Space Planning & Visual Merchandising to implement creative merchandising strategies that maximize product visibility and drive sales.
- Keep track of stock levels, participate in regular stocktakes, and ensure smooth inventory management.
- Oversee cash handling procedures daily, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and maintaining accuracy.
- Coach and support team members on correct cash handling processes, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Act as a key holder, responsible for opening and closing the store as required, ensuring security and operational readiness.
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies and procedures across all aspects of store operations.
- Work closely with store management to implement loss prevention strategies, training the team on anti-theft protocols and personal security measures.
- Assist with recruitment, training, and development of new team members, helping to build a strong and capable team.
- Stay up to date with employment legislation and ensure full compliance within the team.
- Conduct annual performance reviews to set clear objectives, provide feedback, and support your team in achieving their personal and professional goals.
Candidate Criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a retail environment.
- Strong understanding of customer service excellence and the ability to lead by example.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team, ensuring high performance and productivity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers and staff.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions.
- Ability to manage stock levels and ensure visual merchandising standards are met.
- Flexibility and availability to work five days a week, including weekends and evenings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of retail systems and experience with cash handling and processing transactions.
- Ability to train, coach, and develop team members, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
