Job summary

Horizons Cork is seeking compassionate Care Assistants to join our respite services for children and adults with disabilities. The role supports comfort, safety, dignity and independence, across our respite centres.

We offer both full-time and part-time positions aligned to the 13-point salary scale as of 01/06/2026, with incremental credit for prior public service experience. Shortlisting is based on the application form details.

Qualifications

• Possess minimum FETAC/QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support, QQI Level 5 in Childcare, QQI Level 5 SNA or equivalent (Major Award).
• Have up-to-date valid work permissions to work in Ireland at application time.
• Full training will be provided and experience in a similar care area is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality person-centred care to children and adults.
• Assist with daily living activities.
• Engage residents in recreational and social activities.
• Foster a warm and supportive environment for residents and families.
• Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and promote safety and welfare.
• Work with the team to implement individual support plans.
