Job summary

The Rehab Group is seeking a Resource Teacher to join a multi-disciplinary team, delivering remedial and compensatory education including basic computer training. This permanent, part-time role covers 11 hours per week at Balheary Industrial Park, Swords, Co. Dublin.

Applicants should have a teaching degree or H Dip, experience in literacy/numeracy delivery, and familiarity with working with people with disabilities, plus excellent IT skills. Closing date: 2 August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Meet the educational needs of service users through basic remedial and compensatory education.
• Participate with a multi-disciplinary team in identifying needs and planning rehabilitation programmes.
• Carry out teaching and training tasks under the Manager's guidance.
• Set up and maintain records for monitoring progress and produce reports as required.
• Work closely with the Manager on training programmes and notify them of any problems.

Resource Teacher

Permanent, Part-time / 11 hours per week

Job Purpose

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Resource Teacher is responsible for meeting the needs of Service Users in the area of remedial and compensatory education e.g. literacy and numeracy. The role also includes the delivery of basic computer training as required.

What we're looking for

• Teaching degree, H Dip or equivalent qualification recognised by the Department of Education, registration with the teaching council.
• Experience in delivering literacy and/or numeracy training.
• Experience working with people with disabilities.
• Excellent IT skills required.

Your Responsibilities

• Meeting the educational needs of each service user through the provision of basic remedial and compensatory education in accordance with their identified individual needs.
• Participating as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the identification of service user needs and the planning of individually focused rehabilitation programmes.
• Carrying out the teaching work and the general work of training under the guidance of the Manager, providing support for individuals in line with their Individual Action Plan.
• Setting up and maintaining all records necessary for the effective monitoring of service user progress and adhering to internal and external certification requirements on an ongoing basis. Producing reports on the same, as required.
• Working in close contact with the Manager on all matters relating to the centre’s training programmes and immediately informing the Manager in the event that problems arise.

Closing Date: 2nd August 2026

Salary starting from €38,304.01 to €45,883.52 pro rata, depending on experience and qualification. The 14-point salary scale provides annual progression opportunities up to €62,937.45 pro rata.
