Job summary

Lumen Healthcare is recruiting a Permanent Healthcare Worker to support young adults with an intellectual disability in its residential service in Letterkenny.

The role focuses on delivering high-quality care, assisting with daily living activities, and implementing individual and group support plans under supervision. Applicants should have a care qualification and relevant experience, and be willing to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• QQI/FETAC Major Level 5 or equivalent in Health care or equivalent related qualification.
• A minimum of 1 year’s experience of supporting people in a caring field as a paid employee, volunteer, or carer.

Responsibilities

• To work as part of a team to ensure Residents are fully involved in identifying their hopes, aspirations, goals and challenges.
• To support Residents in achieving their hopes, aspirations, and goals.
• To work closely with Health Care Workers, Senior Health Care Workers, and the Manager in preparing and implementing individual and group support programs.
• When appropriate provide personal care to residents, including daily tasks such as bathing, washing, cleaning, and assisting with mealtimes.
• To ensure residents’ medication is stored and administered in accordance with Medication Policy (training provided).
• To be familiar with all administration requirements of the scheme and ensure information is recorded as per reporting guidelines.
• To adhere to all policies and procedures and participate in training.
• Maintain infection control standards as directed and work to national best practice guidance.
• Seek and provide guidance from others for work performed.

Education
