Job summary

Orchard Care Group Ireland seeks a Team Leader for its Residential Care division in Co. Cavan. You will support the Centre Management Team, deliver high-quality direct care to children and young people, and oversee staff on shift.

A strong leadership and care-practices background is essential, with experience overseeing teams and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will work a roster covering days and nights, including weekends, and participate in multidisciplinary support to promote positive

Qualifications

• 2 years full-time relevant experience of working at social care grade with children/young persons.
• Full manual driving licence with eligibility to drive in Ireland.
• Experience in overseeing the supervision of staff would be highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of care practices, protocols, and regulatory requirements in the care sector.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and teams.
• Proficient in documentation and record-keeping, with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and work under pressure.
• Strong organisation and problem-solving skills
• Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-oriented approach to care
• Flexibility to work 12 hrs & 24 hrs shifts, including days/nights, weekends, as required

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day management of the residential centre in absence of the Person in Charge or Deputy Manager.
• Lead and support staff to deliver high-quality direct care to children and young people.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of Placement Plan objectives.
• Fulfil administrative duties and support the Centre Management Team.
• Promote a positive, inclusive culture aligned with Vision, Mission and Values.
