Tetra Tech are looking for a Resident Engineer (Civil) to work on water infrastructure projects across Ireland. This role offers a visible position on major water infrastructure schemes and allows you to bring your civil engineering expertise into the heart of live project delivery.
As a Resident Engineer (Civil), you will be site‑based and embedded within the delivery team on complex above‑ and below‑ground water utility projects. You will play a key role in ensuring construction works are delivered safely, to the required standard and in line with contract requirements, while maintaining close oversight of contractor activity on live sites.
You will help turn design intent and contract requirements into safe, well‑managed delivery on the ground. Early in the role you will focus on supporting efficient site control, identifying issues before they escalated and helping maintain momentum across live works. Over time you will build trusted relationships, strengthen your technical and contractual knowledge, and contribute to consistently high delivery standards across major water sector projects.
A Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering (or similar), together with at least seven years of relevant post‑graduate experience, including site supervision and monitoring of safe working practices. Experience in the water sector is preferred, and pipeline or treatment plant experience would be advantageous. A clean driving licence is required. Current Safepass, Managing Safely in Construction and Manual Handling certification and professional membership, or active progress towards it, are desirable.
These roles are primarily site‑based and support projects across the East, South East, South West, Midlands and North West of Ireland. You will be expected to spend most of your time on site, working closely with construction teams and stakeholders.
In alignment with the Equality Act 2010, we will make reasonable adjustments to support candidates and employees requiring additional arrangements. This could include adaptations to work schedules, training approaches, or the physical workspace. Please inform us if you need any accommodations during the recruitment process or in your day‑to‑day role.
