Job summary

The UNSW Centre for Social Impact invites applications for a Research Fellow (Level B) based at UNSW Kensington Campus. The role requires conducting independent and collaborative research to support investment, innovation, and social impact evaluation.

You will contribute to competitive funding applications, supervise students when required, and disseminate findings through publications and practitioner outputs.

Qualifications

• PhD in a business-related discipline with expertise in qualitative and mixed methodologies.
• Proven commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments in impact investing, regional economic development, or civic wealth creation.
• Track record of high-quality research outputs and potential for leadership in research.
• Experience collaborating with industry partners and delivering research projects with practical outcomes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, industry partners, and community.
• Ability to work in a team and build relationships across disciplines and with external partners.
• Experience supervising or mentoring research students or assistants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research independently or as part of a team under limited supervision.
• Publish high-quality academic outputs and contribute to public discourse in the discipline.
• Support Centre strategy by designing and developing applications for competitive funding.
• Participate as co-investigator or lead investigator in grant applications and collaborations.
• Disseminate research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets.
• Undertake fieldwork, surveys, literature reviews, and data collection using appropriate methods.
• Present at conferences/workshops as required.
• Assist with supervision of research students and staff as needed.
• Provide leadership and organizational support to achieve project deliverables.
