University College Dublin is seeking a Temporary Research Ethics Advisor within UCD Research, Office of Research Ethics, to support researchers in ethics submissions involving human participants. You will advise Principal Investigators and assist with guidelines development and RIS initiatives, ensuring compliance with HREC processes.
The role includes providing guidance, coordinating submissions to HREC-LS or HREC HS, and delivering researcher-centric support across the university.
Temporary Research Ethics Advisor – UCD Research, Office of Research Ethics.
Under the direction of the Research Ethics Officer, the successful candidate will be a key member of the Office of Research Ethics, providing advice and support to the wider university community, as part of the Research Integrated Services (RIS) Strategic Initiative, as well as assisting with the administrative support to the office. The key responsibilities will be to assist and advise Principal Investigators and researchers in preparing and submitting ethics applications involving human participants, to the university's Human Research Ethics Committee - Sciences (HREC-LS) or Human Research Ethics Committee - Humanities (HREC HS). In addition, the successful candidate will develop and update new research ethics guidelines as necessary. The post holder will play a role in delivering UCD Strategic Initiatives by providing a researcher-centric support for research ethics submissions.
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
