Job summary

University College Cork is seeking a Research Assistant (First Stage Researcher, R1) for 12 months to support a large study on border crossing and digital spaces in Turkey and Ireland. The RA will collect data under the PI’s supervision, analyse results and write up findings, and may conduct digital ethnography.

Based in the Department of Sociology and Criminology, the post offers training and a vibrant learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with data collection and analysis under supervision.
• Knowledge of digital ethnography desirable.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect data under the PI’s supervision and assist with data management.
• Analyze data and help write up results for dissemination.
• Undertake digital ethnography tasks where applicable.
• Assist with preparation of reports and perform minor administrative duties.
