Job summary

Life Science Recruitment is seeking an R&D Engineer for an early-stage medical device start-up focused on neuro-interventional devices. You will translate design inputs into concepts, develop test plans, and work closely with management during early product development.

You will identify materials, run prototype tests, liaise with vendors, and contribute to delivering key objectives within time and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in R&D engineering within the medical device industry, preferably with neuro interventional devices.
• Strong understanding of basic engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Translate design inputs into concepts and detailed designs, including specifications and test plans.
• Identify and select product materials, assembly methods and define process settings.
• Develop test models for prototype performance evaluations.
• Develop and execute test plans/protocols; analyse and interpret test results to identify optimal solutions to technical challenges and thoroughly document findings.
• Contribute to the project team to deliver key objectives, meeting performance, time and cost targets.
• Leverage and liaise with external vendors / resources to achieve project goals.
• Understand physician (user) techniques and clinical needs and assist in developing product training materials.

Overview:

As an R&D Engineer you will contribute to the development of innovative medical devices and expected to apply your engineering skill and expertise to develop sound technical solutions that satisfy user needs, while providing regular technical and schedule updates to peers and management. Due to the nature of working in an early-stage start-up, the successful candidate will be involved in the early phase of product development and testing.
