Job summary

IT Search has partnered with a tech-focused organisation to hire a Software Engineer. You will design and implement features end to end using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices patterns, while enhancing reliability, scalability and performance across high-traffic applications.

You will engage in system architecture, automation, observability, and production monitoring, taking ownership of key tasks and collaborating with fellow engineers to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or similar, or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 5+ years’ software development experience with solid Java expertise.
• Strong understanding of microservices, data structures, and concurrency programming.
• Experience with distributed messaging, RPC frameworks, and containerised environments.
• Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins CI/CD, Jira, and Confluence.
• Clean, maintainable coding style and a structured problem-solving mindset.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing features end to end using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices patterns
• Improving system reliability, scalability, performance, and efficiency
• Monitoring production systems, resolving issues, and helping prevent recurrence
• Contributing to architectural discussions for distributed, highly available systems
• Supporting performance optimisation and capacity planning
• Working closely with other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions
