Job summary

Muck Rack, a fully distributed SaaS platform for PR professionals, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack to advance customer-facing search experiences and robust backend services. You’ll collaborate with product and design to deliver intuitive search features backed by scalable data systems.

You'll work across the stack with a focus on frontend (Vue) while contributing to Python and Django services, and help shape high-quality experiences through careful trade-offs and reliable

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience across frontend and backend with independent feature delivery.
• Proficiency with Python and Django or comparable web framework.
• Experience building user-facing apps with Vue.js.
• Experience with Elasticsearch or similar search systems.
• Ability to make trade-offs balancing UX, delivery speed, performance and reliability.
• Experience diagnosing production issues and improving system reliability.
• Experience with TypeScript in a large codebase.
• Experience with design systems or shared component libraries.
• Willingness to overlap US time zones.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver customer-facing search features across frontend and backend from planning to production.
• Build AI-powered product experiences end to end.
• Build intuitive, responsive UI using Vue and contribute to Django services.
• Design and improve search, indexing, and retrieval for high-quality content discovery.
• Maintain features and data workflows with Elasticsearch, Kafka, Celery, and MySQL.
• Make thoughtful technical trade-offs balancing customer experience, speed, reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineering to shape solutions and deliver high-quality experiences.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve performance, reliability, observability, and maintainability.
• Participate in on-call and incident rotation to improve system reliability.
