Job summary

MCS Group is supporting a software company hiring a QA Automation Engineer to join its product and engineering team. This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on testing and automation and is comfortable taking ownership of QA within a product squad.

You'll work closely with Product and Engineering to understand requirements, identify risks and determine the right approach to testing. Fully remote within Ireland offers autonomy with experienced leads providing support.

Qualifications

• Hands-on QA with testing processes and techniques.
• Automation experience using testing frameworks.
• Responsibility for QA within a product/engineering team.
• Strong communication to explain technical information clearly.
• Thoughtful approach to risk and prioritisation of tests.
• Ability to clarify requirements and challenge assumptions.
• Nice to have TypeScript and Playwright experience; Java/C# also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Represent QA in requirements discussions, refinement and sprint planning.
• Review requirements, ask questions and identify product risks.
• Define and prioritise test coverage balancing manual and automated tests.
• Build, maintain and improve automated tests.
• Collaborate with developers to investigate issues and support resolutions.
• Communicate testing progress, quality concerns and release risks clearly.
• Make independent QA decisions and escalate concerns when needed.
