Job summary

European Tech Recruit is sourcing a Sensors Systems / Software Engineer for a Cork-based role that can be 100% remote from within Ireland. You will develop and maintain a data collection platform supporting global campaigns across mobile and wearable devices, working with teams worldwide.

The role emphasizes DSP, Python (Pandas), MATLAB, and ML dataset management, with exposure to sensor systems and IoT data streams. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• BSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of systems engineering or related experience.
• Hands-on experience with embedded systems, physical sensors, wireless radios, or location technologies.
• Applied knowledge of digital signal processing, probability, and statistics.
• Strong Python skills including Pandas.
• Working knowledge of MATLAB for data analysis.
• Experience creating and managing ML datasets with partial or full workflow automation.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain the sensor data collection platform.
• Support and manage global data collection campaigns using mobile and wearable devices.
• Analyse, label, and generate metrics for multi-sensor datasets including IMU, GNSS, Wi-Fi, BLE, and cellular data.
• Create and maintain training, validation, and test datasets for algorithm development.
• Maintain sensor characterisation equipment in Cork, including rate tables and drop-test rigs.
