Job summary

Engage People Recruitment is helping a leading multinational Telecoms company in Ireland to hire a Data Engineer. Mostly remote work, based in Ireland, urgent permanent role focusing on scalable data platforms and cloud-first pipelines.

You will design and optimize data models, build ETL/ELT pipelines across GCP and on-prem hybrid, work with Neo4j/Gremlin/Spanner and PostgreSQL, and collaborate with engineers and analysts to improve data quality and security.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills with solid relational and NoSQL experience.
• Proficient Python for data work.
• Hands-on experience with GCP and graph databases (Neo4j, Gremlin, Spanner) and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with cloud data tools: GCP BigQuery, Dataflow, dbt/Dataform.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of data modelling (star schema, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT) across cloud environments.
• Working with large, messy datasets and turning them into something usable.
• Designing and optimising databases (relational + modern data warehouse setups).
• Collaborating with engineers and analysts to shape data models and improve data quality.
• Testing pipelines, validating transformations, and ensuring smooth operations.
• Getting involved in DevOps workflows, version control, and deployment pipelines.
