Job summary

AfterQuery is seeking biologists to author and grade life science scenarios used to evaluate frontier AI models. You will craft realistic experimental designs, provide reference answers with scientific reasoning, and assess model outputs for mechanistic accuracy and evidence handling.

Remote, asynchronous work with no fixed hours and a minimum of 10 hours per week. Rates range from $60–$120/hr and are set by experience.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in biology or closely related field required.
• 2+ years of research, industry or teaching experience in life sciences.
• Depth in a biology area such as genetics, ecology, microbiology or physiology.
• Clear written English for documenting scientific reasoning.
• Able to commit at least 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Author realistic biology scenarios from experimental design through interpretation.
• Write reference answers with the scientific reasoning behind each conclusion.
• Grade model output for mechanistic accuracy and evidence handling.
• Flag explanations that read fluent but get the biology wrong.
