Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer (AI Data Trainer) to create high-quality reasoning traces and structured workflows that teach AI models to think step-by-step. This fully remote hourly contract role offers flexibility to work 10–40 hours per week.

You will produce detailed decision-making documentation, generate training data, and critically review AI-generated reasoning to improve LLM performance. Master’s or PhD preferred, with ML/SE background.

Qualifications

• Experience in Machine Learning or software engineering.
• Ability to break down complex technical processes into clear, step-by-step explanations.
• Strong editing and critique of AI-generated reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Produce precise, structured logical workflows demonstrating expert reasoning.
• Document step-by-step decision-making in a clear format.
• Generate high-quality training data illustrating tool usage, APIs and reasoning frameworks.
• Review AI-generated reasoning steps to identify gaps and errors.
• Contribute to datasets that improve how LLMs handle real-world tasks.
