Allcare Pharmacy is seeking a Relief Pharmacist to join our team across the Cork City area on a permanent basis. The role supports pharmacists and the rostering team, with duties focusing on regulatory compliance, patient care and team leadership.

The position emphasizes continuing professional development, adherence to policies, and participation in health-promotion programs while maintaining stock integrity and safe operations across stores.

Qualifications

• Observe the Pharmacy Act 2007 and related regulations.
• Maintain professional standards in community pharmacy.
• Participate in Health Promotion and Pharmaceutical Care.
• Engage in Continuing Education for CPD development.
• Implement Allcare Pharmacy policies and SOPs.
• Ensure stock control and proper receipt/documentation of goods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations applicable to the pharmacy.
• Support the Pharmacy Manager in daily operations and security of staff and stock.
• Maintain confidentiality of business details; restrict information outside the company without approval.
• Coordinate with DPS/LTI/GMS schemes and monthly reconciliations as required by procedures.
• Assist in achieving store retail standards, merchandising and stock control requirements.

Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Relief Pharmacist to join the team in our pharmacies throughout the Cork City area.

This is a permanent position with the store's opening hours operating between Monday to Friday, 2 Saturdays a month and 1 Sunday a month.

You will be supported by an Area Manager and a rostering team.

Requirements

• Strictly observe statutory regulations relating to the supply of medical products as per the Pharmacy Act 2007.
• To maintain the community pharmacy to a proper professional standard.
• To be involved where appropriate in programs of Health Promotion and the implementation of Pharmaceutical Care.
• To partake in Continuing Education Programs to enhance continuous professional development.
• To implement policies and procedures as introduced by Allcare Pharmacy and standard operating procedures.
• To ensure that proper stock control is maintained and the correct receipt and documentation of all goods and services is upheld pertaining to the dispensary.
• To be responsible for the security of all stock, property, keys and the safety of all staff and customers in conjunction with the pharmacy Manager
• To observe the details as laid down in the Health and Safety of Work Act and that all staff adhere to the details.
• To ensure that details of the business are confidential and not divulged to persons outside the company without prior approval from Allcare Pharmacy.
• Ensure that the proper procedure for the various Department of Health Schemes e.g. DPS, LTI, GMS is carried out and that they are kept up to date, submitted properly at the end of each month and payment is reconciled as set down by Company Procedures.
• To support the pharmacy manager in ensuring store retail standards and practices are in place and maintained, including: Category Management, Merchandising and Stock Control.
• To keep up to date with all changes to legislation and P.S.I. Practice guidance.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required

• 1-2 years as a Pharmacist is highly advantageous
• Member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication, Interpersonal and leadership skills
• Highly organized with a proven ability to work on multiple tasks accurately in a busy environment
• The ability to work on own initiative & as part of a team is essential
