Job summary

ESB is seeking a Regulatory Legal Manager to lead the regulatory legal function within its in-house team in Dublin. You will provide strategic, commercially focused advice on energy regulation, licensing, competition law, and related administrative matters to senior management and business units.

You will lead external engagements, manage advisors and fees, and drive continuous improvement in legal services while working within a cross-functional ESB environment with hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Ireland.
• Significant experience advising in the energy/utility sector.
• Experience leading a regulatory/legal team.
• Strong drafting and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic regulatory and competition advice to ESB senior management and Group Head of Legal.
• Lead regulatory strategy in responses to inquiries, investigations, mergers, and consultations.
• Collaborate with Group Compliance to ensure regulatory compliance programs and policies.
• Manage external legal advisers and fees for specialist regulatory matters.
• Lead and develop the Regulatory Legal team and drive delivery improvements.
