Job summary

Affidea UK & Ireland is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join our team, delivering 1st and 2nd line support across our clinics in Ireland. You will assist with desktop deployments, network issues, and clinical applications to ensure smooth patient services and clinical operations.

The role requires strong M365 experience, AD, and remote support capabilities, with travel across Ireland and occasional UK travel. A driver’s license and good communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • IT related certificates such as CompTIA A+, Net+, CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
  • 3+ years’ industry experience in desktop support.
  • Experience with M365 including Azure AD and Exchange administration.
  • Experience with Active Directory, server virtualization technologies, storage management and data security.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLAN, switches, firewalls).
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to independently plan and manage site visits across multiple locations.
  • Experience working remotely with minimal supervision.
  • Full Irish driving license essential.
  • Regular travel across Ireland; occasional UK travel and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site and remote 1st and 2nd line technical support across Ireland clinics.
  • Support staff with PC and laptop deployment, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Assist with printer setup and VOIP telephony support.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and provide server support.
  • Manage user accounts and access permissions.
  • Support key clinical applications (RIS, PACS, MedServ, EHR).
  • Contribute to IT projects, upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
  • Coordinate with vendors and document resolutions.
  • Maintain IT ticketing updates and knowledge base.
  • Support IT security initiatives and align with corporate standards.

We're looking for an IT Support Engineer to join our growing team, providing 1st and 2nd line support across our clinics throughout Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment where your expertise will directly support patient services and clinical operations

Responsibilities:
  • Provide on-site and remote 1st and 2nd line technical support, resolving incidents and service requests assigned through the IT Service Management platform.
  • Support clinic staff across multiple locations with:
    • PC and laptop deployment, troubleshooting and maintenance.
    • Printer installation and support.
    • VOIP telephony support and configuration.
    • Network troubleshooting and connectivity issues.
    • Local and central server support.
    • User account administration and access management.
  • Provide technical support for key clinical applications, including:
    • RIS
    • PACS
    • MedServ
    • Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Assist with IT projects, upgrades, system rollouts and infrastructure improvements.
  • Work closely with the IT Manager and wider engineering team to implement new technologies and service enhancements.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and act as a key technical point of contact.
  • Maintain accurate ticket updates and ensure timely resolution of support requests.
  • Contribute to the IT Knowledge Base by documenting procedures, solutions and new technologies.
  • Support IT security initiatives and ensure local systems align with corporate security standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, security reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLAN, , switches, firewalls).
