Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Ireland is seeking a Regional Safety Engineer/Health and Safety Manager to own the health and safety function for data centre operations. You will advance safety culture, lead audits, develop safety plans, and partner with construction, operations, and security teams to mitigate risks and protect staff.

You will report to the Regional Safety Manager - EMEA, travel may be required, and you will influence safety policies across AWS data centres in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in safety, environmental, or related field.
• Experience across cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders.
• Experience developing and implementing safety standards, policies, or programs.
• Audits related to business processes, risk mitigation, or compliance.
• Experience with safety in data center or critical facilities is a plus.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of health and safety standards, training, risk assessments and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct health and safety audits of data centers for compliance and life safety.
• Ensure global health and safety programs are implemented and effective.
• Develop safety plans for on-site emergencies and business continuity.
• Maintain safety records and data integrity.
• Perform data trend reviews to support leadership with safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with AWS H&S program, legal, and operations teams for guidance.
• Identify risks and partner with operations to mitigate them.
• Daily interactions delivering health and safety guidance to customers.
