Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to execute preventive and corrective maintenance on site refrigeration equipment in Grangecastle, Clondalkin, Dublin. The role focuses on servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining water/air-cooled chillers and various AC units.

You will follow a scheduled plan, coordinate with supervisors, and ensure compliance with EHS and SOPs while contributing to a GMP-compliant pharma environment.

Qualifications

• Refrigeration F-GAS 2079 certificate held.
• Trade qualification in refrigeration or qualified electrician in refrigeration.
• 2+ years maintenance/troubleshooting in pharma with GMP familiarity.
• NFQ 5 level or higher.
• Experience with large ton centrifugal & screw chillers is advantageous.
• Familiar with major chillers from York, Sabroe, Trane, Carrier, Daikin.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work per schedule and site procedures.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration equipment as directed by supervisors.
• Complete site documentation before/after tasks per SOP.
• Liaise with contractors during planned service maintenance.
• Participate in training and ensure ITP meets site requirements.
• Carry out risk assessments for maintenance tasks.
• Update MTLS to reflect current site needs and reviews.
• Review EWI/SOP to keep documents current and valid.
• Comply with Veolia EHS rules and site guidelines.

Refrigeration Technician

Location: Grangecastle, Clondalkin, Dublin

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 39 Hours per week

Overview of the role

The utilities refrigeration technician is responsible for the execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance program on the site refrigeration equipment. Your main role is to carry servicing, trouble shooting, and maintenance of Industrial water/air cooled Chillers and various AC units.

Day to Day Role

• Carry out work as per schedule supplied by the Maintenance Coordinator, Planner and as per site policies, schedules and procedures.
• Troubleshoot problems with utilities refrigeration equipment as necessary and as directed by site supervisors
• Complete site documentation before and after work tasks, as per relevant SOP.
• Liaise with Contractors during planned service maintenance.
• Participate in the appropriate training and ensure that ITP meets the site requirements.
• Carry out Risk Assessment of Equipment Maintenance Task List steps and ensure these are always kept valid.
• Update MTL's as appropriate to ensure they are always relevant to the site needs and meet findings from periodic reviews.
• Carry out Periodic reviews of EWI/SOP to ensure documents are always current and valid.
• All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• You will have a Refrigeration F-GAS 2079 Certificate.
• Relevant Trade Qualification in Refrigeration, or A qualified industrial electrician which has transitioned to refrigeration
• 2+ Years in maintenance and troubleshooting experience of refrigeration equipment in a Pharma environment and familiar with GMP requirements.
• Qualified to a minimum of NFQ 5
• Familiar and capable of delivering Service/Maintenance and repair of Water-cooled and Air-cooled Chillers and AC Units
• Experience on large ton Centrifugal and Screw chillers would be a distinct advantage but training will be provided as required
• Have experience with major Chiller manufacturers such as York/ Sabroe/ Trane/ Carrier/ Daikin.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• An ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
