Job summary

Sunbeam Veterinary Hospital in Cork, Ireland, seeks an experienced Referral Veterinary Surgeon with a focus on soft tissue and orthopaedics. You will join a busy, purpose-built referral hospital offering excellent facilities and a chance to expand your own referral caseload.

A full-time permanent role is preferred, with flexible or part-time options on offer for the right candidate. Start date from November 2026 onwards, with good work–life balance and a strong supportive team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in both soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery.
• VCI registered or eligible for VCI registration.
• Comfortable managing referral‑level cases independently.
• Strong communication with clients and referring veterinary surgeons.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for a busy referral caseload involving soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures from initial assessment through to surgery and follow-up care.
• Work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team with access to advanced imaging, rehabilitation services and emergency support.
• Be proactive in developing and growing surgical services within the practice.
• Shape the caseload around individual interests and expertise.
