Job summary

UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin is seeking a Staff Nurse to join the Recovery department in the Theatre. This permanent part-time role (28.5 hours) requires a Registered General Nurse with 4+ years post‑registration experience, including 3 years in theatre/recovery.

Orthopaedic exposure is desirable. The successful candidate will lead nursing care, support accreditation programs, and maintain high standards of patient safety.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse with current An Bord Altranais live registration.
• Minimum of 4 years post-registration experience; at least 3 years in theatre/recovery.
• Orthopaedic experience desirable but not essential.
• Experience in managing a team of nurses and in an orthopaedic facility is preferred.
• Must be computer literate and able to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred care in the Recovery/Theatre department.
• Maintain standards and contribute to accreditation and quality improvement.
• Liaise with Director of Nursing and other staff to ensure safe transfer of patients.
• Monitor infection control policies and safety standards.
• Provide timely communication with relatives and visitors as required.
