Job summary

BSS Contract Solutions Ltd in Dublin is seeking a Setting Out Engineer / Engineering Surveyor to join our rail and infrastructure teams. The role focuses on precise setting out, surveys, monitoring, and collaboration with project professionals to ensure data accuracy on site.

You will use total stations, GNSS, scanners and BIM inputs to deliver quality survey information. Rail experience and flexibility to travel across Ireland are required.

Qualifications

• Previous engineering surveying / setting out experience on rail projects is essential.
• Strong technical capability in setting out, control, topographical, monitoring and as-built surveying.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out, engineering surveys, topographical surveys, monitoring and as-built surveys on rail projects.
• Establish, maintain and verify survey control networks and site reference systems.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and BIM information and translate these into accurate on-site setting out.
• Use modern surveying equipment including total stations, robotic total stations, GNSS/GPS, precise levels and scanners.
• Process survey data and prepare drawings, reports, records and as-built information.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, design teams and site personnel to resolve technical and surveying issues.
• Ensure survey information and records are accurate, traceable and issued in a timely manner.
• Operate in accordance with project safety, quality and environmental procedures, including rail-specific safe systems of work.
