CBTax Limited is seeking an R&D Associate Technical Consultant to join our expanding team across Manchester, Northampton and Dublin. You will translate complex technical work into compliant R&D tax relief claims for global clients, spanning engineering, software, life sciences and manufacturing.

We value recent STEM graduates who enjoy problem-solving, with strong analytical and written communication skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts to mixed audiences.

Qualifications

• A STEM degree or related technical discipline.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Ability to distil complex concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Commercial awareness and confidence in client-facing conversations.
• Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail.
• A full driving licence is a must-have for this role.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients to uncover and assess eligible R&D activities.
• Conduct technical interviews and on-site visits with R&D teams, engineers and scientists.
• Analyse complex technical processes and write compelling technical reports.
• Partner with tax and compliance teams to ensure high-quality submissions.
• Keep up to date with guidelines to ensure all technical content is audit-ready.
• Advise clients on best practices for documentation and record-keeping.
