CBTax Limited is hiring R&D Tax Associates to work with UK and Ireland clients on eligible R&D tax relief claims. You will blend client-facing consultancy with analytical problem-solving to translate complex technical work into clear financial narratives.

You’ll join a high-performance team with mentorship and exposure across diverse industries from day one.

Qualifications

• A degree in finance, accounting, or business management is required.
• Analytical thinking and curiosity for technical and financial contexts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to simplify complex detail.
• Methodical, organized, and detail-oriented with multiple workstreams.
• Confidence representing CBTax in client meetings and projects.
• Motivation for progression and mentorship in a high-growth consultancy.

About the Role

As an R&D Tax Associate, you’ll work directly with some of the UK and Ireland’s most forward-thinking businesses to uncover how their innovations qualify for R&D tax relief. The role blends client-facing consultancy, analytical problem-solving, and the craft of turning complex technical work into clear financial narratives.

You’ll be embedded in a high-performing team with genuine progression, mentorship, and exposure to a wide variety of industries from day one.

In This Role You Will

• Engage directly with clients to identify and assess innovative projects eligible for R&D tax relief across sectors including science, software, engineering, pharmaceuticals and more
• Draft financial reports for submission to HMRC and/or Revenue
• Exposure to technical teams, interviews & site visits with senior technical and financial stakeholders
• Collaborate with wider teams and specialists to build robust, defensible claims that exceed client expectations
• Manage client relationships end-to-end, communicate progress clearly, and use Salesforce for efficient project management
• Stay current on HMRC and Revenue guidance, emerging innovation trends, and R&D legislation
• Identify opportunities to maximise client claims and feed insights back to strengthen internal processes

• A degree in finance, accountancy, or business management, with a genuine interest in technical, engineering, and scientific concepts
