Job summary

CBTax in Dublin is seeking an Assistant Tax Manager to own the day-to-day Irish R&D claims and compliance work, ensuring accuracy, timely submissions and strong client service.

You will review claims end-to-end, calculate benefits, coordinate submissions with clients and accountants, manage pre-notification processes, and support the Irish practice's growth with autonomy from day one.

Qualifications

• ATT or CTA qualified.
• Experience at Assistant Manager or Manager level, or a senior associate ready to step up.
• Background in tax compliance, ideally with exposure to R&D.
• Strong attention to detail — accuracy is essential in this role.
• Well organised with ability to manage high volume work to deadlines.
• Confident dealing directly with clients and their accountants.

Responsibilities

• Review R&D claim expenditure to ensure it meets the relevant legislation.
• Perform benefit calculations for each client.
• Send submission instructions to clients/accountants.
• Liaise with clients and their accountants to ensure submissions to Revenue are completed seamlessly.
• Manage the pre-notification process, ensuring forms are submitted on time and accurately.
• Chase and manage CT1 submissions and related compliance activity.
• Advise clients on technical queries as their point of contact.
