Qualifications

• Excellent report writing, communication, interview, and presentation skills.
• Strong business development skills with a proven track record of developing significant relationships.
• Broad corporate tax knowledge.
• Professional services background (Big 4, mid-tier, or consulting firms) preferred.
• Previous R&D tax knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the application of Irish tax law and Revenue guidelines to identify R&D costs eligible for tax relief.
• Deliver high-quality advice and solutions to clients, managing risk and reputation.
• Review R&D tax credit calculations and prepare claims for submission to Irish Revenue.
• Manage multiple engagements and delegate & review work prepared by other team members.
• Support new client acquisition by preparing and delivering proposals.
• Produce project budgets and timetables that are efficient and cost-effective.
• Ensure quality and risk-management procedures are continuously adhered to across the R&D portfolio.
• Monitor ongoing work and issue fees in a timely manner.
• Lead or work effectively as a project team member, demonstrating strong communication skills and creating synergies with team members across technical skill sets.

The Research & Development (R&D) tax team is part of the Quantitative Services group of EY. The team includes tax and engineering specialists who work on a variety of high-profile clients, and it continues to grow with companies performing R&D in Ireland.
