Job summary

Global Professional Consultants Ireland is hiring a Quantity Surveyor for civil engineering projects based in Dunleer, Co. Louth. This role offers a balanced mix of office and site work, supporting project delivery from pre-contract to final account.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying and a minimum of 4 years' experience in civil engineering or construction. The position includes a salary of €65,000 – €75,000, strong career progression, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within civil engineering or construction.
• Experience working on infrastructure or civil engineering projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of cost control across civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review BOQs, cost estimates, and tender submissions.
• Conduct site measurements and valuations of completed works.
• Manage subcontractor packages including procurement, payments, and variations.
• Liaise closely with engineers, project managers, and site teams.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and forecasts.
• Prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and cost reports.
• Attend regular site visits across North Dublin, Meath, and Louth.
• Support contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering / Infrastructure Projects

A Quantity Surveyor is required for a well-established civil engineering contractor based in Dunleer, Co. Louth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS to join a growing company working across a range of infrastructure projects throughout North Dublin, Meath, and Louth.

The successful candidate will be involved in a mix of both office-based and site-based work (approximately 50/50 split), supporting the commercial management and delivery of civil engineering projects from pre-contract through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of cost control across civil engineering and infrastructure projects
• Prepare and review BOQs, cost estimates, and tender submissions
• Conduct site measurements and valuations of completed works
• Manage subcontractor packages including procurement, payments, and variations
• Liaise closely with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure commercial alignment
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and forecasts throughout project lifecycle
• Prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and cost reports
• Attend regular site visits across North Dublin, Meath, and Louth
• Support contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (Level 8 minimum)
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within civil engineering or construction
• Strong understanding of construction costs, contracts, and commercial processes
• Experience working on infrastructure or civil engineering projects is desirable
• Strong numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills
• Proficient in MS Office and relevant QS / commercial software
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel to site as required

Salary & Benefits

• Salary circa €65,000 – €75,000 (depending on experience)
• 50/50 split between office-based work (Dunleer, Co. Louth) and site visits
