Job summary

Abbott is hiring a Manufacturing Technician in Kilkenny to operate in a regulated manufacturing environment. You will diagnose faults, support maintenance, and improve production line performance with hands‑on technical work.

The role requires experience in a manufacturing setting, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication. A 20% travel expectation is noted, with opportunities at a growing site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
• Experience managing internal stakeholders.
• Experience in SAP is an advantage but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Determine lot suitability for release by reviewing test results against product specifications.
• Assess cumulative impact of lot deviations, non‑conformances and supporting documentation.
• Release product by performing required transactions in SAP, including material status updates.
• Support Quality Operations and CAPA teams in identifying quarantined lots within SAP.
• Audit materials and documentation through inspection, measurement or testing of raw materials, components and sub‑assemblies.
• Gain a strong understanding of the manufacturing process, system applications and critical process steps.
• Carry out GMP walks, material verification checks and quality oversight activities within the Warehouse, ensuring proper storage, segregation and handling.
• Review manufacturing and material documentation to support validation and quality decisions.
• Communicate issues relating to product release or documentation promptly to relevant personnel.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams by meeting regularly, responding to queries and clarifying procedures.
