Job summary

Red Chair Recruitment is seeking a Quality Control Engineer for a Cork/Kerry border manufacturing operation. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will identify quality issues, lead corrective actions and drive continuous improvement across production, engineering and purchasing functions.

The role requires a hands-on approach, strong mechanical aptitude and advanced Excel skills. Experience with ISO quality systems and data reporting is essential, with salary open to negotiation based on

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Quality Control or Quality Engineering position.
• Strong knowledge of sheet-metal manufacturing and processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data analysis and reporting.
• Experience working with ISO quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify quality issues, establish root causes and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
• Conduct inspections, testing and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
• Identify, investigate and resolve quality and production issues using structured root-cause analysis.
• Lead continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives.
• Support and lead ISO quality management activities, ensuring procedures and standards are maintained.
• Apply the COPIS methodology to improve processes, quality and customer outcomes.
• Manage supplier returns, supplier non-conformances and corrective actions through to resolution.
• Produce regular quality reports and performance analysis for the Plant Manager.
• Work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and Suppliers.
• Analyse quality data and identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
