Job summary

SSO Personnel in Ireland is seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to ensure product quality in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing setting. You will work directly with the Plant Manager and on-floor teams to drive corrective actions and maintain ISO compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Experience with Sheet Metal Fabrication processes (Turret Punch, Press Brake, Welding).
• Understanding of basic electrical circuit drawings, cables, crimping, switches, and lighting.

Responsibilities

• Lead ISO and other regulatory audits.
• Identify root causes of non-conformances and drive corrective actions.
• Collect and analyse quality data; prepare clear presentations for Senior Management.
• Work with Customer Service to spot trends in calls/complaints.
• Update procedures and policies.
• Create and close out Corrective Action Reports.
• Use COPIS methodology for new process introductions.
• Manage supplier returns, credits, and liaise with suppliers on quality issues.
• Host quality meetings and maintain Quality KPIs.
• Write specific quality reports as required.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (Monday - Friday)

Salary: €35,000 - €45,000 (up to €50,000 for exceptional candidates)

We are looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer to join our team in a key role reporting directly to the Plant Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment and wants to make a real impact. You'll be a proactive, direct communicator who isn't afraid to go down to the floor and speak to people face-to-face to resolve issues quickly — rather than hiding behind emails. Strong ISO knowledge is essential as you'll play a central role in ensuring products are fully compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Excel skills - Pivot Tables, lookups, complex formulas for data analysis and presentation are essential
• Strong working knowledge of ISO procedures and getting products compliant
• Proactive, direct, and practical approach - you enjoy being on the shop floor
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
