Job summary

Musgrave Group in Ireland seeks a Quality Controller for Doyles Veg Prep to uphold stringent food safety and quality standards across incoming goods and production. You will inspect goods, verify raw materials, maintain quality records, and support audits while ensuring GMP and hygiene practices are followed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection of incoming goods to ensure quality and accurate goods-in documentation.
• Verify that raw materials meet approved specifications.
• Record inspection findings and prepare non-conformance reports when required.
• Perform food safety/quality checks including metal detection and pH testing.
• Monitor production for GMP and Hygiene Practices compliance.
• Ensure product traceability from raw material to dispatch.
• Maintain quality records per procedures and complete audits as required.
• Assist in root-cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.

Doyles Veg Prep was established by Bernard Doyle in 1998 and has since gone on to become one of Ireland`s leading suppliers of fruit and veg. The company operates a six day delivery schedule with a fully refrigerated fleet of 20 vehicles and we adhere to a strict delivery schedule. We supply to a wide variety of customers including hotels, catering companies and some of Ireland’s best known bars and restaurants.

Due to our continuing growth we are looking to add a Quality Controller to our team.

What you’ll be doing:

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the inspection of all incoming goods, ensuring products meet quality standards and all goods-in documentation is completed accurately.
• Verify that all raw materials received comply with approved specifications.
• Record inspection findings, complete quality document, and prepare non-conformance reports where required.
• Perform food safety and quality checks, including metal detection, conductivity, and PH testing.
• Monitor the production floor and people to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and good Hygiene Practices.
• Monitor products throughout the production process to ensure they meet quality standards and specification requirements.
• Complete and maintain quality records in accordance with company procedures
• Review production quality records to ensure they are completed accurately and in full.
• Ensure full product traceability is maintained from raw material intake through to dispatch
• Verify that allergen control procedures are implemented and followed correctly.
• Verification of calibration of temperature probes and weight scales.
• Carry out of the positive release of finished products prior to dispatch
• Completion of glass & hard plastic audits
• Assist in completion of hygiene and fabrication audits
• Collation of hygiene samples and environmental swabs for laboratory testing.
• Assisting in root causing and corrective action of non-conformances.
• Assist in the implementation of new food safety/quality procedures.
