Job summary

Design Build Search is seeking a Quality Advisor for a major commercial construction project in Limerick. Reporting to the project manager, you will develop and manage QA/QC documents, certificates, test results, inspection requests and non-conformances to ensure workmanship meets project specifications.

You will review on-site materials, coordinate with procurement and the project team for compliance, run quality audits, train staff on standards, and prepare monthly performance reports.

Qualifications

  • 3rd level Engineering qualification or related discipline.
  • Onsite building construction project experience in quality.
  • Excellent ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Extremely detail oriented with well-developed troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management.
  • Knowledge of building and quality regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Construction project or site engineer experience in quality tasks is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and be responsible for all QA/QC documents for the project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-conformance reports and site instructions.
  • Develop and determine standards to perform inspections and tests and oversee testing methods to maintain high quality.
  • Review on-site materials for compliance and coordinate with Procurement and Project Team on material quality.
  • Supervise implementation of test and inspection schedules and coordinate quality audits across teams.
  • Assist with training to ensure employees understand quality standards and comply with manuals.
  • Ensure quality processes cover lifting and storage of hazardous materials.
  • Perform regular quality audits as scheduled.
  • Analyze products and non-conformance processes and evaluate documentation for quality compliance.
  • Prepare monthly reports to evaluate performance.
  • Develop Inspection Test Plans and checklists based on project specs.
  • Liaise with Project Team for material submittals and audits with Client Team.

Quality Advisor - Commercial Construction - Limerick

A leading Commercial Construction contractor, they have operations across Ireland, UK and Northern Europe. Due to an increase in project workload there is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join a high profile commercial construction project in Limerick. Reporting to the project manager you will work with the Project Team and Client representatives to ensure the quality and workmanship of every activity meets and exceeds expectations through a thorough knowledge of all phases of construction relating to the project.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and be responsible for all QA/QC documents for the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/ observations, permanent materials delivered and other QA/QC documents.
  • Develop and determine all standards to perform inspection and tests on all procedures and oversee all testing methods ensuring high standards of quality are maintained for all processes.
  • Review the quality of all materials at the site and ensure compliance with all project specifications and quality collaborate with the Procurement Department and Project Team for all material procurement and maintain a high quality of materials.
  • Supervise the effective implementation of all test and inspection schedules and ensure adherence to all procedures and coordinate with various teams to perform quality audits on processes.
  • Assist with training to ensure that all employees have sufficient knowledge of all quality standards and ensure compliance to all quality manuals and procedures and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to maintain the quality of all systems.
  • Ensure sufficient quality processes are in place to manage the lifting of all materials and equipment and also the storage of all hazardous materials.
  • Perform quality audits as per the required schedule.
  • Regularly analyse all products and non-conformance processes, including the evaluation of all documents to ensure that they meet quality requirements.
  • Prepare monthly reports to evaluate performance.
  • Develop an Inspection Test Plan and Checklist based on specifications of the project.
  • Liaise with the Project Team for submission of material submittals to the Client Team.
  • Coordinate with the Client Team in relation to all audits/site inspections.
Requirements
  • Third level qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Onsite building construction project experience in quality.
  • Excellent ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Extremely detail oriented with well-developed trouble shooting skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Excellent IT Skills.
  • Knowledge of all relevant building and quality regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Construction project experience or site engineer experience working on quality tasks is essential.
  • Industry experience outside of the construction industry will not be considered.
