Job summary

Design Build Search is seeking a Quality Advisor for a high profile commercial construction project in Limerick. You will report to the project manager and work with the project team and client representatives to ensure quality and workmanship meet expectations through thorough QA/QC oversight.

Key duties include developing and managing QA/QC documents, inspection plans, audits, material reviews and coordinating with procurement and site teams to maintain high standards.

Qualifications

  • Third level qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Onsite building construction project quality experience.
  • Excellent cross-functional teamwork and communication.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop QA/QC documents for the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests and non-compliance reports.
  • Develop and determine standards to perform inspection and tests and oversee testing methods.
  • Review the quality of all materials on site and ensure compliance with project specs.
  • Supervise test and inspection schedules and coordinate quality audits with teams.
  • Assist with training to ensure staff know all quality standards and procedures.
  • Ensure quality processes for lifting and storage of materials and hazardous substances.
  • Analyse products and non-conformances and prepare monthly performance reports.
  • Develop an Inspection Test Plan and Checklist based on project specifications.
  • Liaise with the project team for material submittals and client audits.

Quality Advisor - Commercial Construction - Limerick

A leading Commercial Construction contractor, they have operations across Ireland, UK and Northern Europe. Due to an increase in project workload there is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join a high profile commercial construction project in Limerick. Reporting to the project manager you willwork with the Project Team and Client representatives to ensure the quality and workmanship of every activity meets and exceeds expectations through a thorough knowledge of all phases of construction relating to the project.

Role Responsibilities
  • Develop and be responsible for all QA/QC documents for the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/ observations, permanent materials delivered and other QA/QC documents.
  • Develop and determine all standards to perform inspection and tests on all procedures and oversee all testing methods ensuring high standards of quality are maintained for all processes.
  • Review the quality of all materials at the site and ensure compliance with all project specifications and quality collaborate with the Procurement Department and Project Team for all material procurement and maintain a high quality of materials.
  • Supervise the effective implementation of all test and inspection schedules and ensure adherence to all procedures and coordinate with various teams to perform quality audits on processes.
  • Assist with training to ensure that all employees have sufficient knowledge of all quality standards and ensure compliance to all quality manuals and procedures and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to maintain the quality of all systems.
  • Ensure sufficient quality processes are in place to manage the lifting of all materials and equipment and also the storage of all hazardous materials. Perform quality audits as per the required schedule.
  • Regularly analyse all products and non-conformance processes, including the evaluation of all documents to ensure that they meet quality requirements. Prepare monthly reports to evaluate performance.
  • Develop an Inspection Test Plan and Checklist based on specifications of the project.
  • Liaise with the Project Team for submission of material submittals to the Client Team.
  • Coordinate with the Client Team in relation to all audits/site inspections.
To Be Considered
  • Third level qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Onsite building construction project experience in quality
  • Excellent ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Extremely detail oriented with well-developed trouble shooting skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent IT Skills
  • Knowledge of all relevant building and quality regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
