Job summary

Dexcom Ireland - Athenry is seeking a QC Inspector 2 for its first European manufacturing site in Athenry. This onsite role supports receiving inspections of components, materials, sub-assemblies, and products to ensure conformance to specifications.

You will prepare inspection reports, manage RI materials in the system, and collaborate with QA and engineers. Shift pattern requires flexibility; GMP and safety standards apply. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 6 in Quality, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in the medical device industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, testing, and sampling for incoming components and products to ensure conformance to requirements.
  • Prepare, record, and update RI inspection report forms with accurate information.
  • Execute RI Materials transactions in the defined system.
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers and other functions on material/test issues.
  • Monitor equipment/instrumentation to ensure safety and proper operation.
  • Adhere to GMP, safety guidelines and company standards.
  • Assist in setup of Receiving Inspection Dept. and RI Lab.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This role follows a fixed (non‑rotational) evening shift pattern: Monday–Thursday from 3:30 pm to midnights and Friday from 2:30 pm to 10pm

Meet The Team

Our Receiving Inspection Department within our Quality Assurance team are looking for a dynamic and skilled QC Inspector 2 (Onsite role) to support the start-up of our first European manufacturing site in Athenry. As a member of the Receiving Inspection team, the inspector is responsible for ensuring the activities related to the inspection functions are performed in a manner which meets company standards and methods as determined by the Quality Assurance or other Engineering departments.

Where You Come In:
  • You will perform inspections, check testing and sampling procedures for incoming components, materials, sub-assemblies and products to ensure conformance to specified requirements in accordance with material specification, drawing and Quality Assurance standards.
  • You will prepare, record, and update receiving inspection report forms and ensure all paperwork contains accurate and legible information.
  • You will perform transactions related to RI Materials in a defined system.
  • You will work closely with Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers and other functions on any material, equipment or test-related issues that arise.
  • You will monitor equipment and instrumentation to ensure there are no issues, and equipment is safe to use.
  • You will adhere to all GMP, safety guidelines and company standards at all times.
  • You will be part of the team involved in the setup of the Receiving Inspection Dept. and associated RI Lab.
  • You will assume and perform other duties as assigned
What Makes You Successful:
  • You can demonstrate strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and written and verbal communication skills
  • You are proficient in the use of inspection Equipment and tools (Smartscope, Keyence, etc.)
  • You must be able to flex to work in different shifts to meet demand.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis (e.g. Minitab) and Microsoft Office Products is desirable
Experience & Education Requirements:
  • You have a minimum Level 6 in Quality, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • You have a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience within the medical device industry.

The annualised base salary for this position is from €32,130.00 to €41,580.00 gross. Final offer will depend on your qualifications, competencies, and professional experience.
