Job summary

ESB, Ireland’s leading energy utility, operates pumped storage at Turlough Hill and hydro stations on the River Liffey. We seek a Hydro Team Member to maintain electrical and control systems, work across maintenance, operations and civil teams, and uphold ESB safety standards.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years hands-on electrical/CI maintenance, HV/MV/LV understanding, a full B driving license, and good IT skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience of hands-on industrial Electrical / Control & Instrumentation Maintenance.
• Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of HV/MV/LV electrical systems and C&I systems.
• Full B driving license.
• Good IT skills. Applicants must be proficient in the use of computer systems.
• Staff and/or Contractor supervision experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of Safe Systems of work, Permitting and Isolating processes.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise, plan, schedule and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure business continuity through the use of the computerised maintenance management system.
• Delivery of work across all areas of the Station, including Maintenance, Operations, Hydro Control Centre, Technical, and Support Functions.
• Response to corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure safety of staff and contractors through compliance with safety systems, including work permitting, setting to work and risk assessments/ method statements.
• Carry out work in a hands-on capacity.
• Work to budgets including execution of procurement processes, management of spares, and management of inventory.
• Management of other plant specific projects as required whilst maintaining compliance to ESB standards and guidelines.
• Carry out the role of Permit Holder and Work Controller under the safety rules and execute all duties required under the role for all functional areas of the station.
