Job summary

GMC Utilities Group in Ireland is seeking an experienced Public Liaison Officer to manage relationships between GMC, the public and stakeholders. The role focuses on strategic communications, crisis management and community engagement to support project execution and a positive public image.

Key duties include acting as the main liaison with residents, businesses and elected representatives, coordinating with engineers and authorities, and organising community events.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a liaison, community engagement, or stakeholder management role—preferably within the civil engineering or utilities sector.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to confidently engage with the public, business owners, and political representatives.
• Ability to manage sensitive or complex issues with professionalism and diplomacy.
• Familiarity with infrastructure or construction projects is highly desirable.
• Full driving licence
