Job summary

GMC is seeking a Junior Project Manager to join our team in Ireland. The role supports the delivery of projects across urban and rural environments from a construction perspective.

You will assist in reviewing performance, coordinating drawings, and preparing cost-to-complete values and commercial reports under the guidance of the Project Manager, while building strong relationships with clients and suppliers. A full driving licence is required.

Qualifications

  • Full clean driver’s licence is required.
  • A relevant qualification (or working towards one).
  • Exposure to UK or Irish Water Standards (Potable & Foul).
  • Confident and motivated, with the ability to work independently as part of a team.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver multiple projects across urban and rural environments, focusing on urban works.
  • Assist in reviewing project performance, contributing to cost forecasts and financial assessments.
  • Assist in management of planning, installation and coordination of large diameter branch connections through DCC.
  • Support cost-to-complete values, claims narratives and commercial reports under guidance of the PM.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Clients, Client Representatives, third parties, and stakeholders.
  • Assist with drawings and technical details to support design and value engineering opportunities.
  • Support PM in coordinating team activities and maintaining a positive, efficient environment.
  • Deputise for the Project Manager when required.

The Role.

GMC are currently looking for a Junior Project Manager to join our team.


The successful Junior Project Manager will be supporting the delivery of projects across all aspects of the business from a construction point of view.


Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the Project Manager in coordinating and delivering multiple projects across urban and rural environments, with particular focus on urban works.

  • Assist in reviewing project performance through a commercial lens, providing input to cost forecasts and financial assessments.

  • Assist the PM with management of the planning, installation and coordination of large diameter branch connections coming through DCC.

  • Support the preparation of cost-to-complete values, claims narratives, and commercial reports under the guidance of the Project Manager.

  • Contribute to the building and maintaining of strong working relationships with Clients, Client Representatives, third-party providers, and key stakeholders.

  • Assist in the preparation, review, and coordination of drawings and technical details to support efficient design and value engineering opportunities.

  • Support the Project Manager in coordinating team activities, contributing to a positive, efficient, and motivated working environment.

  • Deputise for the Project Manager when required.


Critical Elements of role:


  • Prepare and issue regular project status reports, highlighting progress, risks, and support needs for decision-making across the business.

  • Support the development of proposed design packs—from concept through detailed design—including coordination with environmental, archaeological, and other specialist inputs.

  • Assist with the management of supplementary design works.

  • Liaise and coordinate effectively with multiple levels of Staff, Departments, Clients, Suppliers, Subcontractors, and any other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Assist in the development and improvement of team structures, processes, and onboarding of new personnel and supply chain partners.

  • Assist with the development of team members and assist them with their continuous professional development.

  • Assist with the management of SI works.


The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:


  • Full clean driver’s license is required.

  • A relevant qualification (or working towards one).

  • Exposure to or working knowledge of UK or Irish Water Standards (Potable & Foul), with the ability to develop this knowledge further in the role.

  • Confident and motivated, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider project team.
