Protection Caseworker — Migrant Support (Ireland)

Job summary

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ireland seeks a Caseworker – Protection to support Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTPs). You will conduct vulnerability assessments, identify needs, and refer to support services to promote independence in state accommodation settings.

You will work on data collection, SOP-guided casework, and coordination with accommodation centers, including translation tasks and preparing reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences or related field plus 3 years of relevant experience; alternatively high school diploma with 5 years’ relevant experience.
• Experience with vulnerable groups (migrants, refugees, IDPs, trafficking victims) is essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and IT systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring project activities.
• Retrieve, compile and analyze data on project topics.
• Support the development of Protection strategy through research.
• Conduct vulnerability screenings for BOTPs and follow SOPs to support them in state accommodation.
• Coordinate with focal points at accommodation centers and disseminate information to BOTPs.
• Provide translation/interpretation services as needed.
• Draft status reports, identify gaps, and suggest remedial actions.
• Prepare reports, respond to information requests, and maintain records.
