Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking a Hydrogeologist/Environmental Scientist to join the Hydrogeology & Hydrology team in Ireland. The role focuses on hydrogeology and hydrology assessments, project delivery, with exposure to flood risk, drainage and wider water environment disciplines.

Hybrid work options available from Dublin or Cork or remote, supporting a broad range of projects across renewables, infrastructure and built environments.

Qualifications

• Solid to substantial experience in hydrogeology and/or hydrology, ideally within a consultancy or similar commercial environment.
• Degree in Geoscience, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, or related discipline (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
• Experience delivering EIAR Water chapters or equivalent environmental reporting.
• Experience developing conceptual site models and managing field programmes.
• Knowledge of water permitting/licensing processes.
• Strong technical report writing and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with GIS software (desirable).
• Project management and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Full, clean driving licence (required for site work).

Responsibilities

• Site works including supervision of borehole drilling, logging, well installation and hydrogeological testing, and groundwater/surface water monitoring.
• Hydrogeological data interpretation and creating Conceptual Site Models.
• Assisting with hydrogeological assessments such as HRA and HIA, including data analysis and reporting.
• Contributing to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) water chapters.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Hydrogeologist/Environmental Scientist to join our established Hydrogeology & Hydrology team in Ireland, delivering high-profile water environment projects.

Based in Dublin or Cork (hybrid) or remotely, the role will focus primarily on hydrogeology and hydrology assessments and project delivery, with additional exposure to flood risk, drainage, and wider water environment disciplines, as well as projects spanning renewables, infrastructure, power, industrial and built environment sectors.

The role includes:

• Site works (including undertaking and the organisation of) such as site walkover surveys, supervising borehole drilling, geological logging, well installation and hydrogeological testing and groundwater/surface water level and quality monitoring programmes.
• Hydrogeological data interpretation and preparing geological and hydrogeological Conceptual Site Models.
• Assisting with the completion of hydrogeological assessments - such as Hydrogeological Risk Assessments and Hydrogeological Impact Appraisals - that would include analysis of monitoring data, completion of hydrogeological calculations, groundwater modelling and reporting.
• Contributing to the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) water chapters.
